House Rules

Game Version

  • Dungeons and Dragons 3.5 is under revision. 3.0 rules will be used exclusively until further notice. (7/6/2003)
  • Information from the 3.5 Players Hand Book may be used, however the transition is not complete, contact your DM for specific details (1/17/2004)
  • We are now using 3.5 rules throughout. (9/22/2004)

Equipment

  • The spike chain is banned until further notice (7/6/2003)
  • Weapons, Armor, Gear, etc. is limited to that found in the players handbook (7/6/2003)
  • The light hammer's damage is 1d4+1 rather than 1d4 (7/6/2003)

Race

  • Only races from the players handbook are allowed (7/6/2003)
  • Players may choose to play goblins in LongWalk only (3/6/2004). For Goblin Racial information click here.
  • With DM's permission, players may choose to take the Half-Fey racial template if they are playing Longwalk Gnomes. (3/27/2004) For Half-Fey information click here.
  • The gnomes of Longwalk are now a separate subrace (3/28/2004). For their full write up click here.
  • The gnomes of Highland Moor are now a seperate subrace (10/10/2004). For theire full write up click here.

Classes

  • No prestige classes are currently allowed (7/6/2003)
  • The following prestige classes from Sword and Fist have been approved (1/17/2003)
    • Cavalier, Drunken Master, Dualist, Gladiator, Order Initiate of the Bow, Red Avenger, Tribal Protector, and Weapon Master
  • The following prestige classes from Sword and Fist have been specifically banned (1/17/2003)
    • Devoted Defender, Fist of Hextor, Ghostwalker, Halfling Outrider, Knight Protector of the Great Kingdom, Lasher, Master of Chains, Ninja, Ravager, War Master
  • The following prestige classes from Masters of the Wild have been approved (1/17/2003)
    • Animal Lord, Bloodhound, Deepwood Sniper, Forsaker, Geomancer, Hexer, Shifer, Tempest, Verdant Lord, Windrider.
  • The following prestige classes from Masters of the Wild have been banned (1/17/2003)
    • Bane of the Infedels, Blighter, Exotic Weapon Master, Eye of Grumsh, Foe Hunter, Frezied Bezerker, King of the Wild, Oozemaster, Watch Detective
  • The following prestige classes from Song and Silence have been approved (1/17/2003)
    • Outlaw (Kodan Kingdoms), Royal Explorer (Empire), Spy Master (Empire, LongWalk), Temple Raider (Empire), Thief Acrobat (open), Vigilante (open), Virtuoso (Empire, Elf lands)
  • The following prestige classes from Song and Silence have been banned (1/17/2003)
    • Dread Pirate, Dungeon Delver, Fang of Lolth.
  • Divine spell casters must belong to one of three pathos's: (7/6/2003)
    • lawful characters follow Olindo.
    • ethically neutral characters follow Endool.
    • chaotic characters follow one or more god of Chaos.
  • Paladins and Monks may only be human (7/30/2003)
  • Prestige classes are still limited by region, see the individual region pages to see approved prestige classes. (9/22/2004)

Skills

  • Only skills from the players hand book are allowed.(7/6/2003)

Feats

  • Only feats from the players handbook are allowed (a more extensive list is currently being reviewed). (7/6/2003)
  • Skill Focus provides a +3 to any one skill (rather than +2) (7/6/2003)
  • Master Feat list has been compiled (8/4/2003)
  • Feats are once again restricted to the players handbook only. Additional feats will be available based on region and faction. See the individual region and faction pages for more details. (9/22/2004)

Languages

  • There is no "common" language. All languages are racial and/or regional. "Dregalian" is the most common human language spoken in the "Three cities region" and can be taken in place of "common" by characters who start in that area. (7/6/2003)

Character creation

  • Characters can be created using 4d6, drop the lower die method or with points (28 point buy) but the method must be chosen before any dice are rolled.(7/6/2003)
  • Characters may start with "starting packages" based on class or by rolling starting wealth (players handbook p.95) (7/6/2003)
  • All rolls must be performed in front of the DM (7/6/2003)
  • Unless specifically approved by the DM, characters may be created using the point by system only (32 points) (9/22/2004).

Spells

  • Unless specified below, only spells from the Players Handbook are allowed (7/30/2003)
  • Druids do not have access to standard cure spells, instead they have regeneration spells. For a full list of spells click here.(7/6/2003)
  • Most spells from "Masters of the Wild" are allowed, except the following: (7/30/2003)
    • The following druids spells (from MoW) are banned: Power Sight, Animal reduction, Body of the sun, embrace the wild, waterball, and mass awaken.(7/6/2003)
    • The following druid spells are banned until modified: Sandblast, creeping cold (better explanation), false bravado (changed to bard), miasma (higher level), big sky, greater creeping cold, slime wave, countermoon(higher level).(7/6/2003)
