Storyteller: A fancy smancy party invitation addressed to “Cowboy” dropped off at the Sanctum. The gold embossing on the letter does say, “black tie affair”
Cowboy: Well, Dan isn’t one to turn down a party though he would be sure to ask the others (at the very least Scandal) to come with him.
Storyteller: Exactly, Antigone has Provost duties, Trapper has his job, Scandal is being a madam and Herald.
Cowboy: Well, if it was fancy, Dan would put on his “well shuck” (high quality) boots and head out. He would dust off his tuxedo (proved a while ago by Antigone) and go. Boots polished to a shine but hat still on.
Storyteller: Heading out he would quickly find himself following the directions out of town to paved road into the hills where a palatial manor which has a valet who would take his truck with a smile and tip of his imaginary hat. Read the rest of this entry »

Call it guilt, call it stoicism, hell, or call this cowboy self absorbed if you like. Call it whatever you reckon it is, but to this Cowboy it is just plain fact, I am a dangerous man.
I’ll say it again just in case you didn’t pick it up the first time, I am a dangerous man. Since my awakening, I’ve channeled more power from the supernal realms than any of the others. Scandal in her subtle ways manages to ease the workings of her will into mundane manipulations and Antigony’s raging heart fuels the strands of fate she weaves, but Cowboy, hell he just rips the world apart with his divine fire. So, how do you get out of a room with no windows or doors? You get out by going insane! The Cabaal somehow was united one night and brought to a room where there was minimal furniture, no windows, doors, and self-healing walls. And playing in the background was Patsy Cline’s “Walking after midnight”, and not just played once, but for the entire duration of our stay, time after time.
At first we were not in the torture room for long as we chased odd clues as to what this room may be. But somehow, the room kept bringing us back, to that dreaded place for longer durations. We traveled to an area outside time and fate’s boundaries as we sat there for what seemed like an eternity until the room waned and allowed us back in the real world.
I have to say, it was somewhat endearing at first. Being stuck and spending time with Dan and Scandal. Though not enjoying the terms and with the help with ol’ Trapper we managed to figure out what was going on, there was a ghost who was bound and died in the room playing games with us. Thankfully, Scandal helped set us free from the curse.
And now that we’re free from the ghost, the room could be helpful…if only we can get the key from dear old daddy. A turn out step mum is a guardian of the veil, which apparently means spy. It’s nice to know we have an eye in the house, but then again, Daddy’s full of surprises.

So, there I was, Athena drawn and my father standing before me. Everything else was a blur, I knew Scandal, Cowboy Dan, and Black Alice were near but this wasn’t something that we had to fight as a cabaal…at least not yet. This was my turn to step up to my father, to show him that it isn’t ok to continue to do the deeds he was doing. And then with one thrust, Athena sank into his flesh. My heart skipped a beat as I had to hold back tears.
My father’s blood now stains my sword.
There is no turning back. There is no going home again. My father hurt my friends and I and countless others. It needed to be stopped. I thought I had him. I thought the head of the seers was about to die. And then that stubborn son of a bitch pulled out a sword of his own and struck me. He could have killed me. I knew I couldn’t kill him, not yet, the time wasn’t right, but he had the chance to kill me. He allowed me to escape with my life. By then I was badly injured and Dan tended to me.
After, Dan and I had a little chat about him and Scandal. We got in an argument and I felt the unresolved sexual tension build between us as our passions were aired. But I fought desire back, knowing he loves Scandal and I am fond of Davey. I can’t quite call it love just yet but I could never hurt him. Anyway, hopefully Dan didn’t chicken out and actually asked Scandal out. Hmm…. Maybe I should be called cupid instead of Antigone. Nah.

Storyteller: Saturday Night. 7:45 PM.
Cowboy Dan: *Cowboy Dan arrives at Scandal’s apartment and has half a mind to just try opening the door without knocking but he stops. First off he knows it will be locked, city folk are always locking doors and more importantly he knows it’s not a good way to start off a date. He straightens his bolo tie, tucks his ironed shirt back into his wranglers and knocks at Scandal’s door.*
Scandal: *shouts* It’s open. I’ll be out in a moment.

Dan sat in Ms. Puccini’s little corner café the Carnegie, enjoying a corn beef and pastrami maven. Helen Puccini, the old lady who still ran the café and her daughter Maureen always had a smile for Cowboy Dan when he walked in the door. They knew his regular and always asked about the pretty lady Dan had brought there once. It didn’t seem like Bethany had much time these days. Whenever she wasn’t working Thomson was around and when he wasn’t there Dan would loose his nerve. Dan and Bethany had both touched the heavens and brought back with them the power to do miracles. Those crazy cultists could have been right; maybe Bethany was the next Buddha. Now that he could see the pattern, watch the supernal energies that she wove out of her soul, somehow small talk became more difficult.

So. How’ve you been? Where’ve you been?
I’ve been to hell. Literally. But I’m getting better.
The first thought that came to mind - after my last little entry - was to go take care of that annoying vampire. So I got Dan and Becky all ready, and we were going to hunt him down. Except Becky vanished in the bathroom, and Dan passed out, and that left me all by my lonesome when Grayson called me.

It could have been just a fun romp in the sack, a little kink, and then off we go. It could have continued like that, and I wouldn’t have felt so violated.
What happened may as well have been rape.
So when hunting down A . . . whatever the fuck her name is, the chick who tried to drop everyone off in the haunted ghost town, the one Dan was macking with - - - anyway, I found her at Bound, a fetish club in the downtown area. Since I know the right people . . .
We don’t need any money
I always get in for free
You can get in too
If you get in with me

. . . gonna end up a big old pile of them bones.
I’ve been stressing the past few months, and I don’t think I can take it anymore.
I can deal with the supernatural shit - the ghosts, the weirdness. Even Tony’s babbling about invisible chi cells or whatever that’s in the bloodstream - sure, it sounds like madness, or at least superstition, but it’s his beliefs. That I can deal with.
I just can’t deal with life anymore. Not straight.
Nothing makes sense.
